Attraction · Internet-Famous Check-In Spot: Mountain-Sea Health Trail

Check in here to enjoy the spectacular scenery of "Eight Mountains and Three Waters".
(Warm Reminder: If your arrival train/bus in Xiamen is later than 8:00, the visit to the Mountain-Sea Health Trail will be automatically canceled. We appreciate your understanding!)
The Mountain-Sea Health Trail perfectly connects Xiamen’s "Eight Mountains and Three Waters". Starting from the Cruise Terminal and ending at Guanyin Mountain Dream Beach, the trail naturally winds through mountains and ridges. Along the way, it links up the scenic and ecological spots that form the "Eight Mountains and Three Waters" on the island, including Yuandang Lake, Huwei Mountain, Xianyue Mountain, Yuanshan Mountain, Xueling Mountain, Hutou Mountain, Jinshan Mountain, Hubian Reservoir, Wuyuan Bay, Huzai Mountain and Guanyin Mountain.
As a key ecological link in the north-central part of Xiamen Island, the Health Trail forms a mountain-sea pedestrian corridor running east-west across the island. It is a "trail of landscapes, a trail of ecology, and a trail of wisdom".

Attraction · Gulangyu Island (World Cultural Heritage & National 5A Scenic Area) + Travel Photography at Internet-Famous Spots (10 exquisite photos gifted per family)

Every view your eyes catch holds a fragment of the past!
You never know what’s around the corner—maybe a rainy moment will turn into a magnificent scenic view in the next second. Each of us deserves to leave the most beautiful memories during travels in our prime, and photos will capture and preserve the wonderful surprises of these moments. In the plain and ordinary reality, we occasionally encounter romantic stories that make our hearts flutter. Perhaps that’s why travel photography has become such a popular and cool part of any journey...
Take a ferry from Xiamen to Gulangyu Island, the "Sea Garden" and the most stunning among Xiamen’s five major urban areas. During Gulangyu’s most prosperous era, you could hear the sound of piano playing from almost every household as you walked along its lanes—earning it the well-known title of "the Island of Pianos on the Sea".
Gulangyu, a small island in the southwest of Xiamen, is surrounded by the sea, with sandy beaches, tree shadows, and quiet alleys. Every tiny detail makes you eager to pick up a camera and record it. Whether you’re into portrait photography or architectural shots, Gulangyu never fails to impress. Covering less than 20 square kilometers, this World Heritage Island is like a large museum of architectural history, dotted with well-preserved historical buildings of diverse styles. It boasts 51 representative historical buildings and mansions, 4 historical roads, 7 iconic natural landscapes, and 2 cultural heritage sites.
The moment you step onto the island, you’ll immediately feel Gulangyu embraced by green trees—fresh air wraps around you, and charming sceneries unfold before your eyes one after another. Capturing these scenes frame by frame with a camera is perhaps the true charm of Gulangyu. The island is filled with spots worth photographing: an unknown alley, an old villa long deserted, an ancient banyan tree that has witnessed the passage of time, a blooming flower by the roadside, a relic site weathered by years... Every random shot tells a vivid story of your journey. When you come to Xiamen, this island—where even the air is filled with stories—is undoubtedly the best place for photography.

"The Most Beautiful Corner"

Amidst Gulangyu’s numerous western-style buildings and crisscrossing lanes, there are many corners that make people linger, but only this one is known as "The Most Beautiful Corner". At the 45-degree angle where two lanes meet stands a three-story red-brick building shaped like a sailing ship at sea. Lush green trees and blooming red flowers surround it, and the wooden street sign under the building adds a touch of literary elegance.

"Xiaoxuetang · Wormhole Bookstore" (Internet-Famous Check-In Spot)

Take photos here and enjoy a leisurely afternoon in a century-old villa for a more refined experience. It is not just an ordinary bookstore, but an integrated space combining books, fashion, art, light meals, reading, and travel—fully showcasing its richness. Time will pass, but images will last; every step you take leaves a trace.

"Union Church" (Wedding Photo Hotspot)

In the mid-19th century, many Westerners left Europe and America, traveling across the ocean to work and live on Gulangyu. Most of these foreigners were devout Christians, and they decided to build a church on the island for Sunday worship. Believers from various missionary societies (the American Reformed Church, the British London Missionary Society, and the British Presbyterian Church) donated money to construct the church at Lujiaoding (also known as Shanglujiao) on Gulangyu. Completed in 1863, this neoclassical-style church was then called the "International Church"—the earliest church on Gulangyu.

"Catholic Church - Exhibition of International Consulate Buildings"

This section of the journey is a favorite among photographers; missing it will likely leave you with regret. Besides immersing yourself in the sound of pianos on Gulangyu, you’ll also see two of the island’s most famous religious buildings: a Greek-style Christian church and a Catholic church with Gothic Roman architectural features. Additionally, three well-known consulate buildings will bring you a brand-new visual experience.

"Yiyuan Garden - Former Residence of Lin Henian"

Located at No. 24 Fujian Road on Gulangyu, this two-story villa with exposed red bricks was built around 1896. Surrounded by various villas constructed by overseas Chinese, it offers a quiet and serene living environment—truly an ideal place. Lin Henian was a pioneer of his time, who contributed military supplies to the country and helped safeguard China’s peace.

"Facing the Sea, Walking on Sand and Treading Waves"

The depths of the sea seem to hold "blue loneliness", but a gentle companion will lead you away from that solitude. We have prepared Gangzaihou Beach for you—the most well-equipped beach on Gulangyu with the broadest view. On the beach, the innocent laughter and shouts of children fill the air. A group of barefoot kids, with their pure desires unhidden, chase eagerly toward the distance—as if chasing their once innocent selves! Experience the relaxing time of strolling on the beach of "Egret Island" (Xiamen’s nickname), wading in the water, and treading on sand with bare feet.
Enjoy the scenery and take photos along the way. The most distinctive refreshment for the [Old Villa Afternoon Tea] is Gulangyu’s handmade pastries. After a long walk, you must be hungry. Before leaving the island, let’s taste Minnan-style handmade pastries, take a bite of pineapple cakes, and sip fruit tea—to bring your Gulangyu trip to a perfect end~

Tip: Dressing Guide

From countless customer photos, we’ve found that Gulangyu is the easiest place to get great shots. When choosing clothes, the key rule is: if you want fresh and bright photos, avoid dark-colored clothing (black is definitely not recommended). For the rest, just follow your own style. Gulangyu is not only perfect for young ladies’ travel photography—best friends, couples, and even families with kids can all take photos that look like blockbuster shots.
Gather at the scheduled time and return to your hotel in downtown Xiamen.Board the bus as scheduled, and the tour bus will drop off each distinguished guest at their respective hotels

Day 2: Kinmen, Taiwan, China

After breakfast, gather at the hotel and depart uniformly for Xiamen Wutong Wharf to take a ferry to Kinmen Island.

【Zhai Shan Tunnel】

It is an A-shaped combat readiness waterway with a total length of approximately 357 meters. Excavated to meet the needs of warfare, it took three years to complete. During the war, it was used for landing crafts to rush to the shore for supply transportation, and there is also a docking pier inside the tunnel. As soon as you enter the tunnel, you can feel its shocking momentum. Looking at the deep reflections in the water, you can’t help but think about how many people shed blood and sweat to build such a magnificent project.

【Kinmen Bridge】 (Stop for Photos)

As Taiwan’s first cross-sea bridge in deep waters, it connects Greater Kinmen and Lieyu Township, with a total length of 5.41 kilometers and a maximum span of approximately 200 meters. It is Kinmen’s newest landmark.

【Badalozi (Octagonal Tower)】 (Sightseeing by Vehicle)

It is a castle-like building, about several dozen zhangs tall (1 zhang ≈ 3.33 meters). On the roof, there are statues of 7 brave soldiers standing in combat positions facing all directions, each holding a grenade or a machine gun. This building was constructed to commemorate 7 warriors who defended the strategic pass at Gubeikou of the Great Wall during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in 1933. They fought heroically, killed hundreds of enemy soldiers, and sacrificed themselves to successfully complete their mission.

【Shaxi Fort】

Located in a strategic position, it offers a view of Dadan Island, Erdan Island, Binlangyu Island, and Xiamen. It also undertakes important military responsibilities—just like other military strongholds in Greater and Lesser Kinmen, the camp is fully equipped with bunkers, ammunition depots, and tunnels. After the military garrison was withdrawn, the camp was revitalized and reconstructed.

【Shuangkou Seaside】

As the coastline closest to Xiamen Island, it has a wide and flat beach with an open view. Military facilities such as rail obstacles (used for anti-landing) can be seen along the tide line, stacked in three layers and stretching for several miles. Through the telescopes on the beach pavilions, you can overlook Shiyu Island, Binlangyu Island, Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Center, the "One Country, Two Systems, Unify China" sign, and Wuyuan Bay—all within close sight. It is also the venue for the annual Xiamen-Kinmen Cross-Strait Swimming Race.

【Juguang Tower】

With an extraordinary appearance, the design concept of Juguang Tower originates from classical architecture, endowing the entire building with a majestic momentum. Famous both at home and abroad, it is the first stop for many domestic and foreign guests visiting Kinmen and a well-known landmark building of Kinmen (a former war zone). Listen to the multimedia introduction to get to know the new Kinmen; standing on Juguang Tower, you can look far into Lesser Kinmen and overlook Xiamen.

【Shengzu Peanut Candy (Gongtang)】

As Kinmen’s top brand, it offers delicious local specialties of Kinmen for tasting.

【Kinmen Yitiaogen】

Kinmen has developed a variety of unique medicinal herbs, such as "Yitiaogen" (a local herbal plant) and "Haifurong" (sea hibiscus).

【Kinmen Steel Knife Factory】

It makes use of millions of discarded shell casings left on Kinmen after artillery bombings. Mr. Wu (Wu Jun) systematically collected discarded shell casings across the island, and with his extraordinary knife-making skills and ingenuity, forged the world-famous "Jinheli Steel Knives".

Day 3: Kinmen, Taiwan, China – Xiamen, Fujian Province, China

【Shanhou Folk Culture Village】

Locally known as "Shibajian" (Eighteen Houses), it is a settlement composed of 18 traditional Minnan-style ancient houses. Built in the 2nd year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1876) by the Wang father-son duo, leaders of overseas Chinese in Japan, the village was intended as residences for their clansmen. It includes 16 two-courtyard houses, 1 three-courtyard house, and 1 Wang Clan Ancestral Hall.
At that time, skilled craftsmen from "Tangshan" (a historical term referring to mainland China) were specially invited to construct the village. The most meticulous and exquisite craftsmanship was employed, and the site was chosen for its auspicious feng shui – nestled against mountains and facing the sea. The Minnan-style buildings feature uniform layouts and neat arrangements, adorned with exquisitely carved painted stone carvings, brick carvings, and ceramic decorations. The entire construction took 25 years to complete. Shanhou Folk Culture Village is undoubtedly a masterpiece that embodies the essence of Minnan architectural art.

【Shishan Artillery Position】

The Zhendong Tunnel under its jurisdiction is excavated in granite rock formations, specifically within the belly of Shishan Mountain in eastern Kinmen. The tunnel has a total length of 508 meters, an average height of 4.6 meters, and an average width of 3.6 meters, with complete supporting facilities. Watching the artillery drill performance is an unmissable activity for Chinese and foreign visitors to Kinmen!

【Chen Jinglan Western-Style Mansion】

This western-style mansion was built in 1921 by Chen Jinglan, an overseas Chinese businessman from Kinmen who resided in Singapore. It was successively occupied by the Japanese army and the Kuomintang army, and later served as a leisure center for Kinmen military officers and soldiers. The most impressive features of the Chen Jinglan Western-Style Mansion are its pure white exterior, delicate carvings, and symmetrical arches – all reflecting Western architectural techniques.

【Sun Yat-sen Memorial Forest】

Visit the Kinmen National Park Administration, and explore 【Rushan Old Fortress】 to view the exhibition of various weapons and the howitzer position. The fortress also houses 【Chiang Ching-kuo Memorial Hall】, which preserves various items used by Chiang Ching-kuo during his stay in Kinmen. Wander through the park to embrace nature, enjoy a forest bath, and breathe in phytoncides.

【Kinmen Sorghum Liquor Distillery】

Kinmen Sorghum Liquor is regarded as a vital branch in the long history of Chinese baijiu (liquor) culture. Its fragrance has endured for over half a century – it boasts a crystal-clear appearance and an orchid-like aroma, embodying a mellow and rich character. Kinmen Liquor Company has pioneered its unique "Kinmen Flavor" style; renowned far and wide for its excellent quality, it offers a taste that is fragrant, mellow, sweet, and crisp.

【Sunrise Duty-Free Jinhu Plaza】

It is a must-visit for tourists to Kinmen! Adjacent to Taihu Lake and Jinhu Hotel, Sunrise Duty-Free Jinhu Plaza covers an area of 9,000 pings (approximately 29,762 square meters) and is the largest duty-free store in Taiwan. It provides global tourists with a shopping experience comparable to that of high-end department stores!

【Lebao Lifestyle Store】

Kinmen Lebao Lifestyle Store is a lifestyle shop that introduces "IT.LAB" – a high-quality Italian brand specializing in new-tech titanium 航 cookware (note: "航钛" refers to aviation-grade titanium, so it can be translated as "aviation-grade titanium"). It mainly offers customers elegant and practical kitchenware.
